Engineering Manager (Fintech): Leading a cross-functional squad to improve products for UK users, with an accent on driving personal growth and development of engineers and ensuring effective delivery of value. Location: Hybrid in London, UK. Minimum 2 days per week in-office for Levels 1-5, minimum 3 days per week in-office for Level 6 and above.

What you will do

  • Lead a cross-functional squad in a triad with a product manager and designer.
  • Line manage a team of cross-functional engineers, overseeing hiring, onboarding, and their personal growth.
  • Ensure squad accountability for execution and delivery of value to users and partners.
  • Set the engineering strategy for the squad and apply modern agile practices for effective delivery.
  • Coordinate communication with stakeholders to enable engineers to focus on performance.
  • Contribute to shaping company-wide managerial and technical best practices.

Requirements

  • Leadership experience managing high-performing teams of up to 7 engineers.
  • Ability to flexibly switch between hands-on technical involvement and strategic thinking.
  • Comfortable working within ambiguous problem areas with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Expert understanding of modern agile practices and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Robust technical and operational knowledge of latest industry technologies and best practices.
  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality, production-ready, and robust solutions.
