Location: Redmond, United States. This is a Redmond-based role; employees within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. are expected to work from the office at least four days per week.

Salary: USD $139,900 – $274,800 per year (general U.S. range)

What you will do

• Partner with stakeholders to define user requirements for complex security scenarios and demonstrate security attacks.
• Provide technical leadership for identifying dependencies and designing solutions for Microsoft Edge and underlying AI platforms.
• Lead by example and mentor engineers to produce extensible and maintainable code across the company.
• Lead multiple product project plans, release plans, and work items leveraging deep subject-matter expertise.
• Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for monitoring novel security vulnerabilities and mentoring engineers.
• Proactively seek new knowledge to improve security baselines, efficiency, observability, and performance of products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding (e.g., C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python) OR equivalent experience.
• Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
• 3+ years of experience in AI/ML security OR equivalent recent security expertise.
• Demonstrated ability to apply AI knowledge in practice, including prompt engineering, grounding, or model fine-tuning.
• Demonstrated ability to both discover novel security flaws and build safeguards to mitigate them.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years of experience OR Bachelor’s Degree AND 12+ years.
• Experience with Modern browsers, especially Chromium-based browsers.
• Experience representing a team in multi-stakeholder environments.
