Platform Engineer

What you will do

• Automate infrastructure components using Terraform (via Terragrunt) with maintainability, scalability, and reliability in mind.
• Develop tooling and processes to support product squads in increasing the speed, reliability, and visibility of their development workflows.
• Improve observability through tooling and processes for monitoring, logging, events, and tracing.
• Collaborate with product squads to deliver infrastructure for new services in a secure and scalable manner.
• Optimize resource utilization and implement features like auto-scaling to increase platform cost-effectiveness.
• Work with the security squad on projects to increase security posture, such as improving IAM roles with a least privilege approach.
• Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation for systems and procedures to increase product squad self-service.

Requirements

• Experience building cost-effective, secure systems in AWS, understanding service trade-offs and making pragmatic infrastructure decisions.
• Comfortable with containerised applications (ECS/Fargate) and have used Infrastructure as Code tooling like Terraform to manage cloud resources.
• Extensively worked with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog and Sentry) and know how to debug issues in production.
• Ability to write solid shell and Python scripts to automate common tasks and build internal tooling.
• Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences, explaining complex infrastructure decisions effectively.
• English: B2 required.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing SLIs/SLOs and helping product teams track service reliability.
• Background working in ISO 27001 or SOC2 compliant environments.
• Advanced Python development skills (for platform team tooling deployed via Lambda).
