What you will do

• Design and implement backend solutions to support fast-paced game development.
• Contribute to software design guidelines and best practices.
• Collaborate with technology teams across worldwide studios.
• Develop strong understanding of internal systems and learn new technologies.

Requirements

• Location: Must be onsite in Dundee, Scotland
• 3+ years professional experience in Java backend development.
• Strong command of Java, Spring Boot ecosystem, and JPA/Hibernate.
• Experience designing and scaling RESTful APIs.
• Proficient with MySQL or other major RDBMS and query tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and CDC pipelines.
• Comfortable in Linux environments with strong communication and production support skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Directed Acyclic Graphs and Graph Databases.
• Experience with media processing tools like FFMPEG.
• Exposure to version control, CI/CD, build automation, caching systems, Spring Cloud, Swagger.
• Experience with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake or Apache Doris.
• Familiarity with Debezium.
