What you will do

• Lead and guide the development team, overseeing technical delivery of digital products and initiatives.
• Establish and uphold engineering principles and best practices to ensure quality and consistency.
• Contribute engineering insights to the Strategy and Architecture team to improve processes.
• Mentor and coach junior staff to enhance team capabilities.
• Approach complex technical challenges proactively, encouraging creative problem-solving and continuous learning.

Requirements

• Location: Must be able to work onsite in Leeds 2 days a week
• Proven experience as a Lead Engineer with expert knowledge of Java, Typescript, Angular, and AWS.
• Experience with agile methodologies and technical leadership including architecture, DevOps, performance, and security best practices.
• Ability to consider client business concerns in technical decisions and stakeholder management.
• Experience with TDD, SOLID principles, and XP practices.
• Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
