Backend Software Engineer

TL;DR

Booking Orchestration Engineer: Designing, building, and operating features and subsystems to improve booking reliability, performance, and user experience with an accent on improving the efficiency and ergonomics of the system. Focus on operating services in production, participating in on-call duties, and learning from incidents.

Location: US - Remote Eligible. You must live in a state where hirify.global Payments, Inc. is a registered entity.

Salary: $157,000—$180,600 USD

What you will do

• Design, implement, launch, and operate services to improve booking reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Write technical designs balancing functional requirements and non-functional qualities.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional partners in Bookings, Payments, and Trust to clarify requirements and manage dependencies.
• Proactively grow knowledge of leading edge practices and trends involving order orchestration systems.
• Help define and improve coding standards, development processes, and operational runbooks.

Requirements

• BS or MS in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 2-4+ years of relevant engineering hands-on work experience.
• Experience building Booking/Ordering or relevant systems.
• Strong coding abilities and experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications.
• Experience architecting, building, and maintaining highly available services in a service-oriented architecture (SOA).
• Comfort operating services in production (on-call participation, reliability guardrails, incident learnings).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within and across teams at hirify.global.
