TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Fintech): Designing and building scalable backend systems for a banking platform with an accent on distributed systems and operational ownership. Focus on mentoring junior engineers, collaborating cross-functionally, and delivering high-quality products.

Location: Hybrid role requiring 2-3 days a week in Manchester office.

What you will do

Design, build, and run scalable backend systems using Kotlin and AWS.
Contribute to technical direction and architectural decisions.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers.
Mentor junior engineers and enhance team practices.
Own code quality and delivery throughout the SDLC.
Write well-tested, clean code and make smart trade-offs in product delivery.

Requirements

Strong backend engineering experience with Kotlin or Java.
Experience with distributed systems and complex problem-solving.
Advocate for testing, clean code, and automation.
Clear communication skills and collaborative mindset.
Experience in fintech or banking is a plus.
