What you will do

• Own and deliver quarterly goals, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to support product development lifecycle and technical decision-making.
• Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, or business issues.
• Support operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics and participating in on-call efforts.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting code review and design standards and advocating best practices.
• Develop talent by providing feedback, guidance, and leading by example.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Canada (remote within the country).
• 4+ years experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Experience with highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, and service-oriented architecture.
• Proven ability to design elegant, extensible features and write high-quality, maintainable code.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.
