What you will do

• Refactor and modernize legacy Python systems and codebases to improve quality and maintainability.
• Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to drive measurable system improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to streamline deployments and modernize architecture.
• Mentor other engineers in debugging, sustainable design patterns, and problem-solving.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level Python proficiency, including async, profiling, and clean architecture.
• Experience extending and embedding the CPython interpreter.
• Proven track record of migrating legacy monoliths to modular or microservices architectures.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Must be based in the United States to comply with US export controls.

Nice to have

• Experience with C++ for system-level integrations.
• Background in ETL pipelines or high-performance data processing.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling.
