Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Linux)

What you will do

• Engineer and maintain Linux system architectures, primarily RHEL 8/9/10 and AWS Linux.
• Perform operating system security hardening, patching, lifecycle maintenance, backup, recovery, and configuration management.
• Design and implement standardized patching methodologies across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Integrate cloud-native services, automation, and intelligent systems to improve performance, resilience, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Support the development and operation of a Cyber Threat Intelligence Database, including issue reproduction, database analysis, and dependent application troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with CISA teams, government sponsors, tenants, and external vendors while tracking patch compliance, deployment timelines, and automation metrics.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must hold an active TS/SCI clearance and be able to obtain DHS Suitability.
• 5+ years of Linux systems administration experience, with RHEL 8/9/10 preferred.
• Strong Linux engineering experience and experience with PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience tuning and troubleshooting compute, network, and storage layers, including general networking or AWS networking and security.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, systems engineering, or a related field; alternatively, a high school diploma plus 7+ years of lab management or systems administration experience.

Nice to have

• Development environment or classified environment experience.
• Experience with SELinux, multilevel security systems, or Cross Domain Solutions.
• Experience coordinating external vendors and communicating customer needs and feature requests.
• Experience with HTTP APIs and authentication using API keys and OAuth tokens.
• DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II, CompTIA Linux+, or RHCSA certification.
