Quantitative Equity Research Analyst: Researching, designing, developing, and implementing systematic active and tax-managed equity strategies with an accent on tax loss harvesting, portfolio optimization, and multi-factor models. Focus on building and refining quantitative equity strategies, back-testing frameworks, and integrating alpha factors with tax management techniques.
Location: Hybrid, onsite every other week in a Fidelity office in Boston, USA
Salary: $100,000 - $200,000 per year

What you will do
- Research and refine Custom SMA tax-managed equity strategies as part of the investment team.
- Develop back-testing capabilities, portfolio optimization, and review results for equity index portfolios.
- Perform after-tax performance analysis, attribution, and monitoring of managed strategies.
- Develop and test new portfolio management processes to improve tax efficiency and reduce risk.
- Investigate and analyze optimal combinations of active and factor strategies for Custom Blend strategies.
- Collaborate with quant research, technology, portfolio engineering, and trading teams to improve quant infrastructure and technology platforms.
Requirements
- Must have 5+ years of experience in quantitative equity research, especially tax loss harvesting and direct indexing.
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in finance, quantitative economics, statistics, computer science, math, or physical sciences.
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, MATLAB, SQL, VBA, and data visualization tools like Tableau.
- Deep understanding of econometrics, mathematics, multi-factor models, equity microstructure, and portfolio construction.
- Experience with financial databases and portfolio management tools such as FactSet, Bloomberg, Axioma, and Barra.
- Strong presentation and communication skills with independent economic intuition.
