Salary: PLN 44,000 gross monthly (for Poland); other locations discussed during interview.

What you will do

• Lead engineering for the credit vertical (loans, BNPL, credit cards), owning end-to-end delivery from architecture to production.
• Define and own the product and solution architecture with a focus on quality control and code optimization.
• Manage and scale distributed engineering teams across multiple international locations.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, and Operations teams to define a high-impact roadmap and deliver value quickly.
• Drive technical excellence, ensuring system performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent, setting a high bar for technical quality.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and scaling engineering teams, preferably within fintech or high-growth tech companies.
• Technical background with hands-on experience in backend systems, microservices, and distributed architectures.
• Track record of building products from scratch and scaling them for millions of users.
• Expertise in data-driven decision-making and using metrics to drive engineering excellence.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to influence stakeholders across various levels of seniority.
• Must be based in Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, or the UK.

Nice to have

• Experience specifically with credit products, lending platforms, or BNPL services.
• Background working within a global, distributed engineering organization.
• Familiarity with fintech compliance, security, and risk frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure as code.
• Knowledge of machine learning applications in credit scoring or fraud detection.
