Staff/Principal Software Engineer - Security Platform

Location: Distributed; available locations include the United States and Canada. Offer-stage candidates may be asked to attend an in-person interview at a hirify.global office or hub.

Annual salary: $192,000–$303,000, depending on work location.

What you will do

• Build and operate secure, resilient distributed systems for secrets and key management across a global network.
• Strengthen and re-architect internal PKI and machine/workload identity systems.
• Run and support infrastructure services in production and help internal developers use them effectively.
• Consult on the design and architecture of new systems and products to ensure secure implementation.
• Participate in on-call support outside standard working hours when technical issues require attention.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Expertise in software development and distributed systems design.
• Strong security background focused on implementation rather than policy or compliance.
• Ability to work with secure infrastructure and developer tooling.

Nice to have

• Contributions to open-source security or distributed systems projects.
• Cryptography experience, including work with cryptosystems at the primitives level.
• Experience with HSMs, TPMs, or platform TEEs such as AMD SEV, Intel SGX, or Apple Secure Enclave.
• Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault, OpenBao, or similar tools.
• Linux/UNIX administration experience and familiarity with Go, Python, or Salt.
