Delivery Manager (Public Sector)

Location: Customer-site attendance and travel may be required; Public & Defence work requires eligibility for SC clearance, including 5 years of continuous residence in the UK.

What you will do

• Lead delivery of complex digital programmes across public, healthcare, defence, or commercial client portfolios.
• Define project success factors and ensure workstreams have delivery plans covering timelines, budget, scope, and outcomes.
• Manage project finances, forecasting, reporting, commercial objectives, risks, issues, governance, and technical quality.
• Lead, coach, develop, staff, and onboard multidisciplinary teams while supporting performance, feedback, and learning objectives.
• Build relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders, manage expectations, and identify opportunities to add client value.
• Support sales, account management, proposals, procurement, recruitment, continuous improvement, and innovation initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience delivering complex digital programmes within a consultancy, professional services, or comparable environment.
• Digital delivery and stakeholder management experience in a complex environment.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Eligible to achieve SC clearance for Public and Defence sector work, including 5 years of continuous UK residence and background checks.
• Experience balancing delivery outcomes, customer needs, and commercial considerations, including financial reporting and budget management.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing individuals and teams.
• Ability to work on customer sites and travel when required.
• Experience planning capacity and building multidisciplinary teams for complex digital programmes.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering programmes in government, healthcare, defence, or another highly regulated environment.
• Curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI, and willingness to explore their use in delivery effectiveness, team experience, and customer outcomes.
• Business development experience, ideally including securing follow-on business with existing clients.
• Experience delivering digital transformation programmes.
• Evidence of innovating or leading initiatives that improve management and leadership practices within a team or organisation.
