Senior Backend Engineer (Logistics)

What you will do

• Design and build backend services for job orchestration, carrier selection, real-time tracking, and post-purchase workflows.
• Own complex systems from architecture through deployment, observability, and production performance optimization.
• Build reliable integrations with carrier networks, fleet systems, and partner APIs.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, design, data, and operations partners to encode real-world logistics workflows.
• Improve transaction and policy infrastructure for accuracy, resilience, and scale.
• Raise standards for documentation, testing, code quality, and incident response.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and shipping backend systems in production.
• Strong Python proficiency and experience with modern backend frameworks.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with PostgreSQL and AWS RDS.
• Knowledge of AWS, managed cloud services, queues, databases, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong distributed-systems design, scalability, performance optimization, and reliability skills.
• Clear written communication, product sense, and effective cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with AsyncIO, event-driven architectures, or integration-heavy systems.
• Background in risk, security, or compliance-driven domains.
• Experience processing large transaction volumes with strict reliability requirements.
• Exposure to AI or rule-based automation systems and prior startup experience.
