What you will do
- Lead and support the implementation of retro-commissioning (RCx) and energy management projects for commercial and industrial facilities.
- Review submissions to ensure accuracy and alignment with program requirements and communicate findings.
- Support the development of program materials such as calculation tools and technical reference resources.
- Work to qualify RCx projects and assess project feasibility.
- Prepare concise summaries of project results for utility clients and program administrators.
- Conduct selective site visits to verify project scope and building systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in energy efficiency, retro-commissioning (RCx), or building systems engineering.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, refrigeration, and other commercial/industrial building systems.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing technical reports, calculations, and performing QA/QC of engineering deliverables.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable guidance.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and lead/mentor junior engineering staff.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and/or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credential.
- Hands-on knowledge of commissioning and retro-commissioning procedures and functional performance testing.
- Experience designing and specifying HVAC, electrical, and building automation/control systems.
- Proficiency with building energy modeling and simulation tools.
