Senior R&D Project Manager (Medical Devices)

Location: Parsippany, New Jersey, United States

Salary: $130,900–$160,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead new product development, product line extension, and sustaining engineering programs.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects within defined schedules, budgets, and objectives.
• Balance electrical, mechanical, and software engineering issues at the system level.
• Develop project plans, schedules, requirements, traceability, and technical documentation.
• Lead design reviews, risk management, problem-solving, and mitigation activities.
• Manage technical partners and vendors and facilitate project meetings and management presentations.

Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience managing technical product development projects.
• At least 10 years of experience developing products as an engineer, preferably in the medical device industry.
• Experience with medical device capital equipment development.
• Knowledge of medical device design controls, risk management, electrical safety standards, and regulations.
• Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software engineering practices at the system level, plus experience with Scrum and Agile processes.

Nice to have

• PMP certification.
• Knowledge of fluid mechanics or experience with ventilators or aspirators.
