Senior AI Developer Productivity Engineer

Location: Foster City, California, United States; on-site

Base salary: $180,000–$276,000 per year. Total compensation may also include Amazon RSUs, Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights, and a sign-on bonus.

What you will do

• Architect and implement LLM-powered solutions using models such as Claude, Gemini, and GPT.
• Build AI tools for intelligent code assistance, automated code review, and engineering productivity.
• Develop systems for boilerplate generation, test creation, and code refactoring.
• Create LLM-based workflows for bug detection, security vulnerability assessment, and code optimization.
• Bridge developer needs with infrastructure solutions and establish responsible AI integration practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus 7+ years of industry experience.
• Professional experience as a full-stack or backend developer with strong knowledge of system design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Fluency in Python or C++.
• Experience with LLM evaluation metrics and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of embedding models and vector databases.
• Ability to work on-site in Foster City, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with IDEs and language server protocols.
• Experience developing or integrating debuggers with build systems.
• Experience managing and optimizing large monolithic repositories, build systems, version control workflows, and developer tooling.
