Software Engineering Manager - Service Platform

Zoox develops an autonomous ride-hailing service supported by a driverless robotaxi fleet.

What you will do

• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers while fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
• Lead the Service Platform team within the Ride and Fleet organization.
• Provide technical guidance and establish key performance indicators to measure optimization effectiveness.
• Allocate team resources and ensure projects are appropriately staffed with the necessary tools and support.
• Partner with engineering teams to deliver tested, high-quality solutions for client services and support smooth integration and deployment.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a similar field and/or 10+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of management experience, including personnel management, hiring, and budget responsibilities.
• Experience successfully shipping large-scale backend services or platforms to production.
• Experience leading and delivering in a fast-paced, agile, and highly cross-organizational environment.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Kotlin or Java.

Nice to have

• Experience with dispatch systems, routes, or maps.
• Experience in the ride-hailing or autonomous vehicle industry.
