Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based near the Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania headquarters; telecommuting is permitted from anywhere within the US, but candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance and appear in the office as required. Domestic travel may be required up to 25%.

Salary: $148,450–$232,200 per year; 40 hours per week.

What you will do

• Deliver online and offline mapping algorithms and systems for L4 self-driving vehicles.
• Design, develop, and implement machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
• Build robust software for real-time, resource-constrained, safety-critical applications.
• Identify limitations in the online mapping system and drive technical improvements.
• Contribute to the technical direction of the team and perception organization.
• Work cross-functionally from problem definition through feature delivery.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related position; alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field plus four years of experience. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience may be accepted.
• Experience architecting, training, and deploying deep learning models, including convolutional neural networks or transformer-based models, for real-world applications.
• Experience training perception models, including object detection and semantic segmentation, using camera and lidar data for autonomous driving or real-time robotic applications.
• Experience optimizing machine learning or deep learning models for onboard deployment using quantization, TensorRT, C++, or similar methods.
• Experience training and deploying machine learning and deep learning models with PyTorch and Python.
• A track record of driving applied research projects from conception and problem definition through experimentation, iteration, and publication or productization.
• Experience applying software engineering and machine learning algorithm design to develop real-world products.
