Senior R&D Engineer

TL;DR

Senior R&D Engineer: Collaborating on the development and maintenance of a next-generation cloud simulation platform with an accent on addressing complex issues and satisfying customer requirements. Focus on advanced problem-solving skills and achieving development objectives.

Location: This role can be done 100% remote from anywhere within the East Coast of the US.

What you will do

• Participate in planning, architecture, and research activities.
• Perform complex development activities, including user experience, software design, and solver research.
• Perform bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products.
• Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions.
• Understand marketing requirements, including target environment, performance criteria, and competitive issues.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and may take on some planning and mentoring responsibilities.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years’ experience, MS with 3 years’ experience, or PhD with 1 year experience.
• Commercial experience with software design and development methodologies.

Nice to have

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent technical knowledge, particularly in platform engineering.
• Commercial experience with Java, Python and/or Go.
• Experience with web development, aspect oriented programming, software configuration management, scripting languages, data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with one or more industry standard Cloud Service Providers, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment.
