Forward Deployed Engineer (AI/Robotics)

Location: On-site in New York City, Boston, Houston, Pittsburgh, or Washington, D.C.

Salary: $140,000–$245,000 annual base salary, excluding bonuses, equity, and other compensation.

What you will do

• Identify high-impact customer problems across cash flow, production, safety, and environmental operations.
• Build and deploy customer-specific software solutions from discovery through implementation and validation.
• Work with Gecko’s robotics, sensor, cloud, and data platforms to create solutions that can scale across customers.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical users, iterating rapidly as requirements and objectives evolve.
• Own decisions and outcomes independently while traveling as needed to support customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar position.
• Proficiency with Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, or similar programming languages.
• Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and frontend frameworks.
• Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues and make decisions with minimal supervision.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
