Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; must be located in San Francisco and open to working in office

Salary: $200,000–$275,000 USD annually, plus benefits, equity where applicable, and bonus where applicable

What you will do

• Lead impactful engineering projects and own major product features from concept through delivery.
• Guide technical decision-making and develop a high-performing engineering team.
• Work with design, product management, deployment teams, and users to build user-centered solutions.
• Design and scale distributed systems, including real-time collaboration on detailed maps and backend systems processing billions of data points.
• Build and iterate on capabilities supporting emergency response, investigations, and other customer workflows.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience working with cross-functional software development teams.
• Professional or open-source experience shipping and iterating on production-grade software.
• Ability to write robust, well-tested, well-designed code that is frequently deployed to users.
• Strong understanding of architecting and scaling distributed software systems and navigating large codebases.
• Located in San Francisco, CA and open to working in office.
