Senior Software Engineer (Platform Core)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 USD base pay per year

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and operate distributed backend services and APIs supporting high-volume customer interactions.
• Own platform initiatives end to end, from problem framing and technical planning through implementation, rollout, and production support.
• Improve reliability, scalability, latency, and cost across IAM, interaction, data lake, reporting, and administrative services.
• Partner with Product, SRE, and engineering teams to deliver platform improvements without destabilizing live traffic.
• Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, troubleshooting, alerting, runbook, deployment, and capacity-planning improvements.
• Raise engineering standards through reviews, documentation, pairing, and mentorship.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience building production backend services and APIs, or equivalent practical depth.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and/or Go.
• Experience with distributed systems, concurrency, and cloud-native development using AWS and/or GCP, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Production ownership experience, including deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and on-call support for high-scale services.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or Aurora, Redis, RabbitMQ, and reliability, performance, and scalability trade-offs.
• Must be eligible to work remotely from the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with Redshift, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, S3, Kinesis, or IAM.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience, especially Terraform.
• Strong observability practices across metrics, logs, and traces.
• Experience scaling or migrating databases, including read replicas, cluster mode, or engine migrations.
