Applied AI Engineer (Renewable Energy)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered consumer features such as personalised energy recommendations and AI-assisted onboarding.
• Build and optimise internal AI tools that automate workflows and improve productivity across the organisation.
• Integrate AI and machine learning models into platforms in collaboration with backend engineers and data scientists.
• Align AI models with real-time energy markets, pricing, trading, and operational requirements.
• Improve trading strategies using weather forecasts, demand predictions, and production modelling.
• Monitor model and tool performance and apply advances in machine learning to real-world energy problems.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of engineering experience, including backend engineering experience.
• Practical experience or strong interest in applied AI and machine learning.
• Strong Python or similar programming skills and familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or comparable AI/ML libraries.
• Experience working with and deploying large-scale LLM and VLM systems in production.
• Understanding of cloud technologies, containerisation, scalable AI applications, and model integration.
• Experience with large datasets, particularly for demand and supply forecasting.

Nice to have

• Experience or strong interest in energy markets and trading strategies.
• Knowledge of weather forecasting, energy demand patterns, production modelling, NLP, or related fields.
