Software Engineer, Forward Deployed (AI)

Location: London, United Kingdom — hybrid. The role includes travel of 25–50% for on-site client engagements.

Annual salary: £56,000–£132,000 GBP, depending on level and location. Bonuses and equity are included in full-time offers.

What you will do

• Scope technical solutions for operational problems with delivery leaders and clients.
• Identify workflow improvements and turn them into stable, scalable solutions.
• Design and implement AI-powered workflows using LLMs, embedding models, retrieval systems, and automation tools.
• Translate inconsistent data, latency requirements, and other real-world constraints into engineering solutions.
• Iterate based on feedback from operators and client stakeholders.
• Build reusable tooling and infrastructure for future deployments and support customers on call when needed.

Requirements

• Hands-on software engineering or ML engineering experience through professional work, internships, coursework, or research projects.
• Strong Python skills and familiarity with PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, or OpenAI APIs.
• Understanding of data pipelines, APIs, and production deployment with tools such as Docker, FastAPI, GCP, or AWS.
• Experience building usable systems from messy data and ambiguous requirements.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical decisions to delivery teams and client stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel 25–50% and participate in on-call support for customers.
