Senior/Lead Backend Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Own backend systems end-to-end, from architecture and design through production.
• Build the AI inference layer for customer support and meter-reading OCR workloads serving millions of prompts per day.
• Migrate AI workloads to proprietary GPU infrastructure.
• Develop systems for continuously recalculating energy settlement data as delayed records arrive.
• Build real-time billing with customer-level ordering, idempotency, audit trails, and half-hourly meter-based pricing.
• Extend trading and hedging systems for forward markets, portfolio optimization, and exchange reconciliation.

Requirements

• Demonstrable excellence as a software engineer.
• Ideally 2+ years of experience; hiring is available across levels from mid-level engineers to Heads of Engineering.
• Proven ability to define and build complex systems.
• Hands-on experience shipping highly available production systems.
• Clear communication skills.
