Senior Data Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid within Sweden, with occasional visits to the HQ in Helsingborg; offices in Helsingborg, Malmö, and Stockholm.

What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines and cloud-native architectures using AWS services.
• Build scalable unified data platform solutions supporting advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making.
• Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance across data flows in a regulated banking environment.
• Translate business requirements into robust data products in collaboration with data scientists, analysts, product teams, and business stakeholders.
• Drive DataOps practices, monitoring, and automated pipeline orchestration.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical decisions on data architecture and tooling.

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering scalable cloud-based data solutions.
• Strong expertise with AWS data services, including ECS, S3, Athena, and related services.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with modern data warehouse architectures, optimization, and transformation tools such as dbt.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform, CDK, or similar tools, plus CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Python skills for data processing and pipeline development.
• Experience with data orchestration tools such as Dagster, Airflow, or similar.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in regulated industries.
• Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder collaboration skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging data technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience in banking, fintech, or another regulated financial industry.
• Familiarity with Docker, serverless architectures, agile development, and DataOps practices.
