Senior Data Engineer

Location: Stockholm, Sweden; office-based. EU work authorization is required.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end data architecture from production data ingestion and CDC through the aggregated warehouse.
• Design and maintain a semantic layer with trusted metrics and shared business definitions.
• Integrate internal systems and third-party providers as hirify.global launches new products and enters new markets.
• Establish practical data governance, ownership, and quality standards.
• Define how business intelligence is built and consumed across the organisation.
• Build reliable pipelines, interfaces, and data contracts for both human users and agentic AI systems.

Requirements

• Solid background in data engineering, ideally in product-focused startups or scaleups.
• Production-ready Python and SQL skills.
• Production experience running Airflow, BigQuery, and dbt.
• Deep expertise in data modelling, pipeline design, and warehouse architecture.
• Ability to make architectural decisions independently and reason clearly about trade-offs.
• Ability to explain technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
