Data Engineer - Avanza Expansion (Fintech)

Location: Stockholm, Sweden. Hybrid workplace with attendance at Regeringsgatan 103 approximately two to three days per week.

hirify.global is building a new data platform to support its expansion into Denmark, combining internal-startup autonomy with established financial infrastructure.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain production-grade data pipelines with strong resilience, observability, testing, and CI/CD standards.
• Decouple analytical systems from operational backends to support developer workflows and sustainable architecture.
• Model data products by connecting clickstream and event-tracking data with core financial and domain data.
• Bridge software engineering, product analytics, and machine learning to enable actionable product insights.
• Shape architecture, data contracts, and data engineering best practices autonomously within a cross-functional team.

Requirements

• Proven experience shipping and maintaining production data pipelines with CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and version control.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL, analytical data modeling, BigQuery, and dbt.
• Solid production experience with event-driven architectures and streaming data using Kafka, Pub/Sub, or equivalent message queues.
• Architectural understanding of decoupling operational and analytical systems to build scalable interfaces.
• Practical experience working with user behavior data and connecting it with transactional domain data.
• Proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to act as a subject matter expert and partner with developers and product teams.
• Professional working proficiency in English, written and spoken, is required.

Nice to have

• Backend development experience with Java or Python, or experience building data ingestion APIs.
• Python experience for data automation or AI and ML integrations.
• Interest in AI tools and methods that improve engineering velocity.
• Experience in fintech or regulated environments.
• Interest in personal finance, savings, and investments.
