Senior Data Engineer (Azure/Databricks)

What you will do

• Develop and operate data pipelines and supporting functions including metadata, data quality, lineage, and monitoring.
• Design, improve, and maintain reliable data products and the data ecosystem for Sustainability.
• Promote good engineering practices, simplify developer workflows, and strengthen engineering culture.
• Collaborate with Sustainability business stakeholders, engineers, architecture, privacy, and cybersecurity functions.
• Participate in Agile team activities including standups, planning, backlog reviews, and peer reviews.
• Share knowledge across Data & Product and Digital teams and mentor less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, with proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Demonstrable experience as a Senior Data Engineer designing and implementing performance-optimized, scalable data pipelines.
• Experience with cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, or GCP and data platforms including Databricks.
• Ability to take ownership of data quality, performance, security, operational stability, and the health and evolution of the data platform.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and proactively drive improvements.
• Ability to set high engineering standards through personal practice and coach and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Collaborative mindset with an interest in supporting colleagues and improving ways of working.
• Positive interest in developer experience and building simple, reliable, maintainable solutions.

• Exposure to Data Mesh, Data Lakehouse, and Data Products concepts.
