Sr. Data Engineer | Data

Location: Stockholm, Sweden; office-first with four days per week from the office. Candidates must already have the right to work and reside in Sweden.

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve data pipelines, data models, and data platform components.
• Own technical work from problem definition and architecture through production, operations, and continuous improvement.
• Influence platform modernisation and technical decisions while building for quality, testability, observability, security, and reliability.
• Identify technical debt, bottlenecks, and structural problems, and drive improvements through automation and standardisation.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, product teams, and business stakeholders to solve valuable data problems.
• Raise engineering capability through knowledge sharing, technical discussions, feedback, and exploration of AI and agentic development.

Requirements

• Strong experience with SQL and Python.
• Experience with data modelling, data pipelines, and ETL/ELT.
• Experience with modern cloud-based data platforms and cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Production-quality software engineering experience, including testing, deployment, failure modes, and maintainability.
• Experience with data quality, observability, CI/CD, and modern development practices.
• Ability to handle ambiguous technical problems, form and explain technical opinions, assess trade-offs, and adapt to better information.
• Already having the right to work and reside in Sweden and being able to work office-first from Stockholm are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, Terraform, or GitHub Actions; the stack is not a checklist.
• Adjacent backend or platform experience combined with deep data engineering experience.
