Software Tech Lead (Embedded Software)

Location: Office-based in Apeldoorn, Netherlands; the posting also lists Arnhem and projects within the Nijmegen–Enschede–Zwolle triangle.

What you will do

• Provide day-to-day technical leadership, direction, and support for a software team.
• Facilitate Scrum activities, including sprint planning, reviews, and demos, and maintain related administration.
• Safeguard and further develop requirements, software design, architecture, and implementation decisions.
• Set up, maintain, and improve development environments, continuous build and integration processes, and configuration management.
• Communicate with customers and the Development Center Manager while monitoring progress, quality, risks, and technical coherence.
• Contribute to software development as a senior software engineer when appropriate and initiate corrective actions when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of technical embedded software development experience, including leading, coaching, or technically guiding a software team.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies and the ability to organize team activities in a structured way.
• Experience with software design and architecture, continuous integration, build automation, and configuration management.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to connect people, maintain oversight, and take initiative.
• Affinity with C, C++, C#, and/or Python development on Linux or Windows platforms.
• Knowledge of UML, Design Patterns, CAFCR, and CI/CD practices.
• Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access controlled technology under the US Export Administration Regulations before beginning work.
