Engineering Manager (Software and Controls)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop Software & Controls engineers, including performance management and hiring.
• Plan the capabilities and capacity needed for development projects.
• Improve software and controls engineering practices, standards, and tooling.
• Strengthen coding, testing, CI/CD, release management, deployment, and peer-review processes.
• Safeguard consistent engineering quality across multiple multidisciplinary projects.
• Ensure engineers enter projects with the skills, standards, support, and environment needed for high-quality delivery.

Requirements

• Strong background in software engineering and/or controls.
• Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams.
• Strong people management, coaching, and performance management skills.
• Experience improving engineering ways of working, standards, and tooling.
• Ability to safeguard engineering quality across multiple projects and teams.
• Comfort balancing capability and capacity needs in a matrix organisation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
