Senior Software Engineering Manager (Mobile)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; hybrid working model with three days per week from the Amsterdam office

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing full-stack engineering organization for mobile applications.
• Partner with Product Management and cross-functional stakeholders to define and execute the product and technology vision, strategy, and roadmap for HERE WeGo mobile and web products.
• Drive the evolution of large-scale consumer mobile and web applications, ensuring strong user experiences, scalable architecture, operational excellence, and long-term technology sustainability.
• Recruit, develop, and retain engineering talent while providing teams with the skills, resources, processes, and tools needed to deliver business outcomes.
• Champion engineering best practices, innovation, technical excellence, and the adoption of AI-enabled engineering and product development practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive software engineering experience with significant experience leading and scaling engineering teams.
• Proven track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining effective engineering teams.
• Experience delivering high-quality consumer-facing mobile and web products at scale.
• Experience collaborating across Product Management, Engineering, Security, Operations, Finance, and other organizational functions.
• Strong technical foundation for guiding architectural decisions, fostering engineering excellence, and balancing innovation with operational reliability.
• Strong understanding of how AI can transform software development and customer experiences.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
