Sr. Associate, Software Engineering 1 (Embedded Systems)

Location: Carlsbad, California, or Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. Onsite role with a 9/80 schedule: 9 workdays over 14 days and every other Friday off.

Salary: $86,000–$123,000 annually for the California location.

What you will do

• Develop software for embedded devices and systems from requirements through production and support.
• Design system solutions, define operational performance requirements, and integrate software and hardware interfaces with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Participate in requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, formal testing, peer reviews, and defect resolution.
• Use software languages and tools across Windows, Linux, and embedded real-time operating systems.
• Prepare software test plans, procedures, technical documentation, and proposal inputs for customer and government requests for proposals.
• Collaborate with systems, test, and program leadership; travel is minimal.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of related experience; alternatively, a graduate degree or equivalent with 0–2 years of related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, at least 6 years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance when required; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Nice to have

• Object-oriented software development experience using C++.
• Embedded real-time software development experience in Linux or VxWorks.
• Experience with high-performance and multi-threaded programming.
• Deep knowledge of programming languages, compilers, and application execution.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines and contribute to complex technical efforts.
