TL;DR
Senior OpenStack Architect (German-speaking) (OpenStack/Kubernetes): Designing and implementing an OpenStack platform while migrating workloads from VMware and managing Kubernetes clusters with Cluster API, with an accent on infrastructure architecture, automation, and platform reliability. Focus on building scalable compute, networking, and storage infrastructure, automating operations with OpenTofu and Ansible, and solving complex infrastructure issues during collaboration with the customer's operations team.
Location: Germany / hybrid; travel to Schwerin, Germany, for 3 days once per month is required
Salary: 160–220 zł/h on a B2B contract

What you will do
- Design, build, and implement an OpenStack platform covering networking, storage, and compute infrastructure.
- Replace the existing VMware environment and migrate workloads to OpenStack.
- Manage Kubernetes cluster lifecycles using Cluster API (CAPI).
- Develop and maintain infrastructure automation with OpenTofu and Ansible.
- Contribute to architectural decisions focused on scalability, stability, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and coordinate technical activities with the customer's operations team, including during on-site visits.
Requirements
- Several years of professional OpenStack experience with architectural responsibility.
- At least two successfully completed OpenStack projects, each lasting a minimum of 9 months; verifiable experience is required.
- Strong hands-on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining OpenStack environments.
- Practical Kubernetes knowledge, including cluster lifecycle management with Cluster API (CAPI).
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as OpenTofu and Ansible.
- Solid knowledge of Linux environments.
- Ability to own technical and architectural decisions while remaining actively involved in implementation.
- Willingness to travel to Schwerin, Germany, for 3 days once per month.
- Very good German and Polish.
