Customer Success Technical Architect (f/m/x) (Kafka)

Location: Hybrid in Dusseldorf, Ehningen, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich, Berlin, or Frankfurt, Germany

What you will do

• Act as a trusted technical advisor and advocate for enterprise customers using the Confluent product suite.
• Coordinate with Sales, Product, Services, Support, Training, Engineering, and other Customer Solutions teams to drive customer success, adoption, retention, and expansion.
• Advise on architecture planning, cluster and security design, monitoring, automation, upgrades, migrations, application hardening, and high availability.
• Guide customers through data streaming maturity, including data mesh, stream processing, utilization optimization, and performance tuning.
• Present periodic customer reviews covering technical health and operational performance to senior management.
• Document and transfer knowledge, influence the product roadmap, and help resolve customer issues with Technical Support Engineers and Core Engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Demonstrated success in a technical field role for a product or SaaS company serving enterprise customers.
• Strong understanding of modern infrastructure and streaming technologies, with the ability to work on complex technical problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex issues and solutions concisely.
• Ability to manage multiple customers and initiatives while delivering results in expansion, satisfaction, feature adoption, and retention.
• Hands-on knowledge of one or more major cloud vendors: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Understanding of cloud networking and security technologies, including VPC, Private Link, Private Service Connect, TLS/SSL, SASL, and Kerberos.
• Experience prototyping and analyzing client-solution code in multiple languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
• Experience with JVM tuning and troubleshooting, and with configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting Red Hat and Debian-based Linux distributions.
• Fluency in written and spoken German and English.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

Nice to have

• Confluent Developer or Administrator certification.
• Experience with Apache Kafka and Apache Flink.
• Experience helping customers build distributed systems or streaming solutions using Apache Kafka with technologies such as Spark, Flink, Hadoop, or Cassandra.
