Associate Director, Finance - FP & A (Biotech)

Location: United States — California — Santa Monica through 2026, with planned relocation to the Thousand Oaks, Foster City, or El Segundo, California offices from January 2027. Flexible hybrid policy: two days remote and three days onsite.

Salary: $165,495–$214,170 annually, plus potential discretionary bonus, stock-based long-term incentives, paid time off, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead long-range planning, annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and scenario analysis.
• Oversee consolidation of budgets, forecasts, and actuals and deliver management reporting packages.
• Partner with senior leaders, Accounting, and Gilead Global FP&A Consolidations on financial guidance and decisions.
• Analyze performance, risks, opportunities, and key drivers; recommend actions to meet financial goals.
• Build financial models for strategic initiatives, investments, scenarios, and business needs.
• Improve planning, reporting, data quality, systems, governance, controls, and close-related processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience, or a master’s degree and 8 years of experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish credibility with diverse audiences and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong business acumen, financial knowledge, analytics, foresight, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Results-oriented, proactive, independent, and able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lead change, challenge the status quo, communicate transparently, and drive continuous improvement.
• Ability to manage people-leader responsibilities, including inclusion, talent development, coaching, team empowerment, and accountability.

Nice to have

• SAP experience.
• Experience in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals.
• Experience in a multinational organization.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated success in deadline-driven, multitasking environments.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
