Sr. Cloud Engineer (Remote)

What you will do

• Design, administer, maintain, monitor, and support enterprise infrastructure across private and public clouds, networks, firewalls, servers, operating systems, applications, databases, and mobile devices.
• Implement and configure Azure cloud-native services, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Istio service mesh, Helm deployments, AKS clusters, and deployment platforms.
• Maintain VMware and cloud virtual environments, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 365 services, security appliances, and network infrastructure.
• Implement disaster recovery and business resumption capabilities, including backup and restoration, Azure Backup/Site Recovery, Veeam, VMware Site Recovery, and updated runbooks.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, applications, SQL Server databases, deployment pipelines, and operational issues while supporting tickets, critical incidents, and cross-functional delivery.
• Mentor Cloud Administrators and Engineers, cross-train team members, document infrastructure standards, and provide technical subject matter expertise to development, client service, and business teams.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in Computer Science or equivalent experience, plus a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience developing and maintaining Azure ADO CI/CD pipelines, improving build, integration, and release processes, and collaborating across teams.
• Expertise in Kubernetes, AKS, Azure ADO, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, resilient highly available systems, and container workloads.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure PaaS and SaaS technologies, including Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus, Azure Notifications Hub, JSON, REST, and data-based APIs.
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems, cloud and physical environments, networking, TCP/IP, firewalls, Cisco Meraki, Azure VNets, VPN Gateways, Route Servers, Route Tables, and Private Endpoints.
• Experience applying information security practices to operating systems, networks, databases, and cloud environments, including the Shared Security Model.
• Experience with Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS; backup and disaster recovery solutions; Microsoft 365 services; Kubernetes deployments using custom resources; and general SQL Server troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript, Python, or similar scripting languages, plus experience with native Azure logging and monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical, research, prioritization, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, presentation, interpersonal, vendor management, and client service skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to respond to emails and text messages after hours to resolve critical issues and to work effectively in a high-pressure, high-availability environment.
• Required certifications: AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-700, and AZ-500.

• Experience in a high-availability environment.
• Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM practices and frameworks.
