Data Engineer (Azure)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain highly available, fault-tolerant infrastructure and platforms in Microsoft Azure.
• Standardize and provision global infrastructure deployments using Terraform.
• Manage, secure, and scale production Kubernetes clusters, including AKS, and support zero-downtime deployment pipelines.
• Automate operational tasks, self-healing systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead incident response, participate in an on-call rotation, and run blame-free postmortems.
• Define and maintain SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets with development teams.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience designing, provisioning, securing, and maintaining scalable Azure environments, including services such as AKS, Virtual Networks, Key Vault, and Azure DevOps.
• Proven experience writing modular, clean, and reusable Terraform Infrastructure as Code modules.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture and production administration, including ingress controllers, Helm charts, stateful sets, and cluster security.
• Practical Bash proficiency and at least one programming language, such as Python or Go.
• Experience with modern CI/CD tooling, such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, including DNS, routing, load balancers, and VPNs.
• Knowledge of security best practices, including identity management, secret management, and least-privilege access.
• Ability to collaborate on complex problems, communicate clearly, share knowledge, and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• Experience configuring monitors, dashboards, alerting policies, and traces in New Relic or Datadog.
• Familiarity with GitOps workflows and tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.
