Automation Test Engineer

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks, primarily with Playwright.
• Automate API testing with Rest Assured, Postman, and Swagger, and integrate tests into Jenkins, GitHub, or GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Write BDD scenarios using Cucumber, SpecFlow, or Reqnroll.
• Perform functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, acceptance, accessibility, and performance testing.
• Validate data with SQL and test event-driven systems including Kafka and Azure Service Bus.
• Manage defects, plan risk-based testing, and maintain traceability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of work experience with strong hands-on test automation experience.
• Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks, ideally with Playwright.
• API testing experience with Rest Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, defect management, and test planning.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Docker, Linux basics, and cloud-native test environments.
• Experience working in agile delivery teams.

Nice to have

• Accessibility testing with Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, JAWS, Dragon, or ZoomText.
• UK government or GOV.UK service experience.
• Existing BPSS or SC clearance, or eligibility for SC.
• Performance testing with k6, JMeter, or BlazeMeter.
• Monitoring experience with Grafana and Kibana.
• Experience with Jira, Xray, Zephyr, Azure DevOps, Allure, or Extent Reports.
