Slovak Localization QA Tester / Proofreader (copy)

Location: Austin, TX; hybrid arrangement, primarily remote with approximately 10% on-site presence

What you will do

• Review and refine Slovak localized content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, formatting, cultural relevance, and contextual accuracy.
• Execute QA test cases across software products, mobile apps, user interfaces, and documentation.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and report localization and functional defects through client-specific bug-tracking systems.
• Verify that reported issues have been correctly resolved after fixes are implemented.
• Research and resolve Slovak linguistic questions while applying style guides, glossaries, trademarks, checklists, and project quality standards.
• Troubleshoot basic issues, communicate testing problems, escalate when needed, and complete assigned work accurately and on time.

Requirements

• Native-level Slovak fluency and cultural awareness of Slovak and Slovakia.
• Experience or background in marketing, journalism, copy editing, proofreading, writing, translation, and/or localization.
• Ability to understand and prioritize tasks and issues quickly and efficiently.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow testing instructions and test cases accurately and evaluate translations in context.
• Ability to research and resolve linguistic questions and communicate effectively about testing issues.
