Desktop/PC Technician

Location: Onsite daily in Knoxville, Tennessee, United States; the posting also lists Brentwood, Tennessee.

Salary: $30–$35 per hour.

What you will do

• Reimage desktops and laptops using documented scripts and step-by-step procedures.
• Start and monitor imaging jobs, install standard software, and apply approved settings.
• Validate that devices boot, connect to the network, and open required applications.
• Perform light hardware tasks, including connecting peripherals and swapping drives or RAM when instructed.
• Label, track, stage, pack, and move equipment while keeping records in spreadsheets or a ticketing system.
• Escalate failed steps or unexpected behavior to a senior technician and maintain an organized work area.

Requirements

• A recent technology-related degree, an industry certification, or at least six months of technical experience in help desk, internships, lab work, retail tech support, or similar work.
• Basic familiarity with Windows and computer hardware, including ports, drives, and memory.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions exactly and complete repetitive tasks at a steady pace.
• Comfort using a keyboard, mouse, spreadsheets, or ticketing systems.
• Clear, friendly communication with teammates and supervisors.
• Reliability, punctuality, accurate work records, early absence notification, and responsible handling of company equipment and data.
• Ability to work onsite daily in Knoxville and regularly lift and carry equipment up to 30 lbs.

Nice to have

• Exposure to imaging or deployment tools such as SCCM/MECM, Intune/Autopilot, or Ghost.
• CompTIA A+ or a similar entry-level certification.
• Experience in a lab, warehouse, or other repeatable-process environment.
