Project Manager III (Smart Building)

Location: Remote in Texas, United States; travel to project sites, customer properties, and vendor locations may be required.

Salary: USD $85,200–$145,200 per year.

What you will do

• Own enterprise-scale retrofit, upgrade, and technology deployment projects from contract handoff through formal closeout, managing up to 30 concurrent projects.
• Evaluate contracts, define scope and deliverables, maintain project plans and schedules, and initiate change requests when required.
• Lead occupied-unit retrofit programs, including sequencing, access planning, resident communications, and disruption reduction.
• Oversee deployments of smart home devices, access control, IoT sensors, community Wi-Fi, network infrastructure, and resident technology platforms.
• Coordinate field services, installation partners, subcontractors, supply chain, engineering, product, customer, and property stakeholders.
• Manage project risks, quality, budgets, margins, change orders, forecasts, invoicing and revenue milestones, profitability, closeout documentation, and transition to Support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, information technology, computer science, business administration, or a relevant field; equivalent experience is considered.
• At least 5 years of project management experience, including leadership of complex retrofit and upgrade projects in occupied residential environments.
• Experience in construction, telecommunications, low voltage, security, or technology installation.
• Experience deploying and supporting smart building technologies and network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, BLE, Z-Wave, LoRa, and access control platforms such as Brivo, ButterflyMX, and Chirp.
• Strong project financial management skills covering budgeting, forecasting, change orders, revenue tracking, cost analysis, and profitability management.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence executive audiences and navigate complex customer environments.
• Ability to analyze data, solve problems, manage risk, read technical documentation and blueprints, and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Strong organization, self-motivation, Microsoft Office and project management tool proficiency, and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Ability to perform the stated physical duties, including occasional standing, walking, stair climbing, extended sitting or standing, computer operation, and lifting or moving more than 10 pounds.
