Engineering Manager - Product (Fintech)

Location: Netherlands; remote or hybrid work across Europe

What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional product team of 5–10 engineers across backend, frontend, mobile, and QA.
• Partner with Product and Design to frame problems, prioritize by value and effort, and deliver products for hundreds of thousands of European businesses.
• Make technical decisions using explicit trade-offs while balancing feature delivery, technical debt, scalability, and delivery speed.
• Own people leadership through 1:1s, growth plans, coaching, hiring, and promotions.
• Improve team productivity, delivery predictability, tools, processes, and communication around priorities, risks, and constraints.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience building data-intensive production systems.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with at least one general-purpose language and platform: C#/.NET, Java/JVM, JavaScript/Node, or Go.
• Deep technical knowledge of distributed architectures, databases, messaging, and queueing systems.
• Experience in product-led organizations, ideally with international scope.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to connect engineering work to revenue, retention, and trust.
• Comfort with product metrics including DAU/MAU, retention, and conversion funnels.
• Exceptional English communication skills across all audiences.
• Builder’s mentality focused on shipping products and growing engineering teams.
