Senior Solutions Architect (Document Intelligence)

Location: Edinburgh, United Kingdom; hybrid with a minimum of three days per week in the Edinburgh office. What you will do

• Lead solution architecture and design for the Document Intelligence landscape, covering intelligent document processing, OCR, AI/ML classification, workflow orchestration, integrations, data, automation, monitoring, and observability.
• Define and govern global target-state architectures, roadmaps, standards, reusable patterns, reference architectures, and governance frameworks.
• Design scalable solutions using OCR, computer vision, machine learning, LLMs, generative AI, microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, regulatory, audit, records management, and AI governance requirements, including explainability, human oversight, and risk controls.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, lead technology assessments and proofs of concept, and define migration strategies.
• Provide architecture assurance, implementation guidance, technical risk management, operational readiness, and executive-level recommendations in partnership with business, product, engineering, security, risk, compliance, and delivery stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong experience in enterprise architecture, integration, distributed systems, and complex multi-technology environments.
• Proven expertise in intelligent document processing, OCR, workflow or BPM, AI/ML, cloud platforms, and API-led integration.
• Demonstrated success designing and delivering scalable enterprise solutions using microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and distributed services.
• Extensive experience designing and implementing cloud-based applications and business solutions across multiple channels.
• Strong technical leadership and the ability to collaborate with architects, engineers, and specialist teams across large-scale programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, consulting, communication, and influencing skills, including translating complex technical concepts into business-focused outcomes.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience guiding architecture through delivery and operational adoption.
