Senior Solution Architect

Location: Leeds city centre, United Kingdom; hybrid with 2 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Shape new initiatives by turning business challenges into practical, buildable solution designs.
• Evaluate technical options and communicate trade-offs, risks and dependencies.
• Create and maintain solution designs, integration diagrams, data flows and Architecture Decision Records.
• Design for security, identity, data protection, resilience, observability and cost.
• Define integration patterns and API contracts across complex technology estates, including ERP and HR platforms.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Platform, Security and GRC teams, staying involved throughout delivery and developing reusable architecture standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, or as a senior engineer owning end-to-end solution design.
• Strong engineering background with knowledge of modern software development and cloud-native architecture.
• Experience designing solutions on GCP or another major cloud platform, including serverless, managed databases and event-driven services.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, integration patterns, microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Understanding of identity and security, including OAuth2/OIDC, federated identity and zero-trust principles.
• Experience designing secure, resilient solutions with data protection and regulatory requirements built in from the outset.
• Familiarity with Terraform, CI/CD and GitOps practices.
• Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modelling and enterprise system integrations.
• Ability to create ADRs, lead design reviews and communicate technical decisions, with a pragmatic approach to ambiguous environments and long-term scalability.

Nice to have

• Experience designing AI or agent-based solutions, including evaluation, guardrails and human-in-the-loop approaches.
• Exposure to workflow automation.
• Experience with enterprise Finance, Procurement or HR platforms and processes.
