Lead Developer (Java/TypeScript)

Location: North Yorkshire, United Kingdom; remote-first with monthly office visits expected. Candidates across the North of England are considered, with the office visit schedule open to discussion.

Salary: £55,000–£62,000 per year plus excellent benefits.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership and improve development efficiency and release quality.
• Own the technology roadmap and act as Solution Owner for projects.
• Design enterprise-grade software solutions and ensure alignment with business needs.
• Collaborate with external developers, architecture teams, and international IT teams.
• Introduce new technologies and drive technology decisions.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and TypeScript.
• Proven full-stack development and systems integration experience.
• Experience designing enterprise-grade software solutions and REST APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or similar databases.
• Ability to manage containerised deployments using Docker.
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working with real-time data is critical.

Nice to have

• Experience with ERP integrations, IoT platforms, telematics systems, Azure, real-time data, or event-driven architecture.
• Relevant professional certifications and education.
