Full Stack AI Engineer

What you will do

• Design, develop, test and maintain full-stack applications covering responsive interfaces, backend services, APIs, databases and business logic.
• Build customer-facing features and internal tools with Product, Design, Sales and Engineering colleagues.
• Develop integrations with partner platforms, payment providers, CRM systems and other third-party services.
• Improve data quality and flow, application performance, reliability, security and maintainability.
• Use AI-assisted tools across requirements, design, coding, testing, review, debugging, documentation and release while validating outputs.
• Design, build and operate agentic systems and AI-enabled features using LLM APIs, tool and function calling, monitoring, evaluation and human oversight.

Requirements

• Commercial software development experience across both front-end and back-end development.
• Strong JavaScript and/or TypeScript skills, plus experience with a modern front-end framework and responsive, usable and accessible web interfaces using HTML and CSS.
• Experience developing backend services, APIs, third-party integrations, databases, data models and data flows between systems.
• Experience with version control, testing, code review, deployment and release practices.
• Strong full-stack problem-solving and debugging skills, with an understanding of application security, data protection, performance and reliability.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical, maintainable technical solutions and work independently while taking ownership.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted tools across the software development lifecycle, including reviewing and validating generated output.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Willingness to learn and work across different technology backgrounds; familiarity with a particular framework is not required.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic or LLM-powered systems, including tool use, function calling, retrieval-augmented generation, multi-step workflows, orchestration frameworks or MCP integrations.
• Understanding of production AI challenges such as evaluation, prompt and output testing, observability, cost management, prompt injection and responsible data use.
• Experience with consumer platforms, marketplaces, e-commerce, travel, booking or SaaS products.
• Experience integrating payment, CRM, finance or other business systems, including Stripe, HubSpot or Xero.
• Experience with cloud services, particularly AWS, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, reporting, analytics or data quality improvements.
• Experience in an international or growing technology business.
